[Polarisqb on Qauntum Technology News] Polarisqb Uses Quantum Computing to Optimize Soymeal, Improving Food Security

As around 345.2 million people worldwide are predicted to be food insecure this year, many scientists, businesses, and organizations are trying to find ways to address this issue. One of the companies working on this problem is Polarisqb, a quantum chemistry company. Using quantum computing algorithms, Polarisqb’s team is optimizing food proteins in soymeal to make food more nutritious for crop animals and people. Their work has helped them become a finalist for the 2023 Soy Innovation Challenge, a biotechnology accelerator program looking at soy protein managed by the United Soybean Board and The Yield Lab Institute.   Read more...

[BlueGreen Water Technologies in Canary Media]Can we fight climate change by sinking carbon into the sea?

Here’s an inconvenient truth: We’ve polluted the atmosphere with so many gigatons of greenhouse gases that just slashing emissions — which we still absolutely have to do — will no longer be enough to avert the worst impacts of climate change. We’ll need to also actively remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates that by 2050, even assuming steep emission cuts in the next few decades (and emissions have been rising, not falling), we’ll need to take out something like 5 to 10 gigatons of CO2-equivalent each year.
